On-site
Manual QA Engineer (2–3 years) to own backend, API and database testing across TWID's product workflows and merchant S2S integrations. Hands-on with Postman, MySQL validation and end-to-end transaction testing, working closely with Engineering, Product and Business teams.
About Twid
TWID is a Bengaluru-based fintech company, founded in 2020, building an AI-powered Incentive Commerce Network.
TWID started by solving the problem of fragmented reward points, enabling consumers to make better use of their rewards across merchants. The company has evolved into a Pay with Rewards platform and is now building the next phase of its business through AI, transaction intelligence and incentive commerce.
With a growing network of 5,000+ merchants, 30+ issuer partners and over 1 billion monthly transaction signals, TWID is transforming how consumers discover, earn and redeem rewards across payments and commerce.
About the Role
We are looking for a Manual QA Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in software testing, particularly in backend testing, API testing and database validation.
The role involves testing end-to-end product workflows, validating backend services and ensuring seamless integrations between TWID and its merchant partners. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with merchant-side Server-to-Server (S2S) integrations, the ability to write and execute MySQL queries, and a strong understanding of different software testing methodologies.
This is an Individual Contributor role requiring ownership of testing activities, attention to detail and close collaboration with Engineering, Product and Business teams.
What we’re looking for:
A hands-on QA professional who can independently own testing activities.
Someone with strong backend and integration testing fundamentals.
A tester who can validate both API behaviour and underlying database records.
Someone comfortable working with merchant integrations and transaction-driven workflows.
A detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of product quality and proactively identifies potential issues.
Key Responsibilities
Perform manual testing of web applications, backend services and end-to-end product workflows, ensuring functionality, reliability and consistency across systems.
Test and validate merchant-side Server-to-Server (S2S) integrations, ensuring seamless data exchange, accurate transaction processing and reliable communication between TWID and merchant systems.
Conduct backend API testing using tools such as Postman, validating request and response structures, HTTP status codes, API behaviour, business logic and error handling.
Perform comprehensive negative testing and validate boundary conditions, timeouts, retries, unexpected API responses and failure scenarios to ensure system reliability.
Validate end-to-end transaction lifecycles, including transaction initiation, success, failure, pending states, reversals, refunds and duplicate transactions, ensuring accurate transaction status updates and appropriate reversal or rollback handling.
Write and execute MySQL queries to validate backend data, verify transaction records, reconcile API responses with database entries and identify data inconsistencies.
Prepare and execute detailed test cases, test scenarios and test plans based on functional requirements, product specifications and integration workflows.
Perform Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, Sanity and End-to-End testing to ensure product quality across releases.
Validate transaction flows, API responses, database entries and integration behaviour across multiple systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy throughout the transaction lifecycle.
Identify, document, track and follow up on defects, providing clear reproduction steps, relevant test evidence and detailed observations to support timely resolution.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product and cross-functional teams to understand requirements, clarify expected behaviour, identify edge cases and ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Use AI-powered coding assistants and code-generation tools to improve test case creation, expand test scenario coverage and enhance testing productivity, while independently reviewing and validating the generated outputs.
Maintain test documentation, execution reports and defect records, ensuring clear visibility into testing progress, coverage and product quality.
Requirements
2–3 years of hands-on experience in Manual Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals, testing methodologies and defect lifecycle.
Hands-on experience with backend API testing using Postman or similar tools.
Practical experience writing and executing MySQL queries for database validation.
Experience in merchant-side S2S integration testing is a must.
Good understanding of API request/response structures, JSON, HTTP methods and status codes.
Ability to understand backend transaction flows and validate data across integrated systems.
Experience in preparing test cases, test scenarios and executing test plans.
Good understanding of Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, Sanity and End-to-End testing.
Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira.
Basic understanding of scripting concepts and programming fundamentals, including variables, conditions, loops and logical constructs.
Exposure to AI-powered coding assistants or code-generation tools, with the ability to understand, review and validate generated outputs.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
Prior experience in fintech, payments, e-commerce or digital commerce platforms.
Exposure to payment gateway integrations, transaction processing, refunds, settlements and reconciliation workflows.
Basic understanding of automation testing concepts and frameworks.
